Here we are again with some simple exercises – have fun out there!

The 20-Second Warm-Up

The children are in aerobic format and complete tasks set by the coach for 20-­‐second blasts; Jogging on the Spot, Star Jumps, Press-­‐Ups, Jogging Around the Area, Hopping on Left, Hopping on Right, Low Bunny Jumps, Squat Thrusts, etc. Remember this is a warm‐up, so be progressive with exercises.

Hop, Skip, Jump Assault Course

4‐Corner circuit with condi0oned ways to get from corner to corner (e.g. Hop Left Foot, Hop Right Foot, Low Bunny Jumps, High Arm‐Up Jumps). Each corner then has a leg exercise to complete (e.g. 10‐squats, 5‐lunges on each leg, 15‐Star Jumps, 5‐Burpees).

Tug of War

ONLY COMPLETE IF YOU BELIEVE THE ACTIVITY IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR GROUP
Split the group into small teams (6‐10) and position at the end of a long rope. Each team has to pull the other team towards them and wins if they cross over a marked line in the middle.

Piggy Back Races

ONLY COMPLETE IF YOU BELIEVE THE ACTIVITY IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR GROUP
Get the children into pairs (similar size and ability) on one side of a marked out grid (about 20 metres). It’s not a race against each other, it’s about completing within the circa 20­‐seconds given and counted down by the coach.
